UKPSC Tax and Revenue Inspector Recruitment 2026 (कर एवं राजस्व निरीक्षक) — Syllabus, Eligibility & Application

The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC), Haridwar, has released the notification for कर एवं राजस्व निरीक्षक परीक्षा-2026 (Tax and Revenue Inspector Examination-2026). The recruitment is for 29 posts under the Uttarakhand Palika (Centralised) Revenue Service, Urban Development Department. Online applications opened on 15 July 2026.

This post is separate from the Executive Officer post that was combined with Tax & Revenue Inspector in the 2023 recruitment cycle — the current 2026 notification does not include any Executive Officer vacancies.

Vacancy Details

A total of 29 vacancies are notified, and this number may increase or decrease. The category-wise breakup is:

Horizontal reservation is also applicable for Uttarakhand Women, skilled sportspersons, State Andolankari/dependents, and Divyang (PwD) candidates, as per the category-wise breakup published in the official advertisement.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree from a university established by law in India is mandatory. Candidates who served in the Territorial Army for at least two years, or hold an NCC “B” or “C” certificate, get preference if all else is equal.

Additionally, candidates must satisfy at least one of these conditions: passing High School and Intermediate from a recognised institution in Uttarakhand, being registered with a Uttarakhand employment exchange, or falling under specific armed forces/government-service residency exceptions listed in the notification.

Age Limit (as on 1 July 2026): Minimum 21 years, maximum 42 years. Candidates must be born between 2 July 1984 and 1 July 2005.

PwD (Divyang) Eligibility

Under Government Order No. 48 dated 5 June 2023, this post is identified for the following disability sub-categories only: OA, OL, LV/PB, HH/PD, Deaf, LC, Dw, and AAV/AV. Candidates from other Divyangjan sub-categories are not eligible to apply against the unreserved posts for this recruitment.

Skilled Sportsperson Reservation

A 4% horizontal reservation applies for skilled sportspersons, tiered by achievement level:

Salary and Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be placed in a Group ‘C’, Non-Gazetted, Permanent post under the Contributory Pension Scheme, carrying a pay scale of ₹5,200–20,200 with Grade Pay ₹2,800 (Pay Level-5).

Fee is payable only via Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI and is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

Selection is based purely on a Written Examination (Objective Type). The notification does not mention any interview or physical test stage for this post.

Negative Marking: One-fourth (1/4) of the marks allotted to a question is deducted for each wrong answer. Marking more than one answer to the same question is treated as wrong, even if one of the marked answers is correct. No penalty applies to unanswered questions.

Minimum Qualifying Marks: UR candidates need 45%, OBC and EWS need 40%, and SC/ST candidates need 35% to be considered for the merit list.

Paper I: General Hindi (100 Marks, 100 Questions, 2 Hours)

Exam City List

The written exam will be conducted at the following centres. Candidates select their preferred city while filling the online application.

The number of cities may increase or decrease based on the number of applicants. Once allotted, requests for centre change will not be entertained.

Answer Key and Objection Process

UKPSC will release the provisional answer key and result through its Online Question Paper Objection Module, conducted in two stages:

Stage 1 — Question Paper Objections: After the exam, the Series-A question paper will be published on the official website. Candidates can raise objections on question/option structure within 7 days, free of cost.

Stage 2 — Answer Key Objections: The provisional answer key will then be published. Candidates can object to specific answers within 7 days, at a fee of ₹50 per question. This fee is non-refundable regardless of the outcome.

Objections are accepted only through the online mode; no other mode is valid. The final answer key is released along with the result and is not open to further objections.

Selection and Document Verification

Clearing the written exam does not guarantee appointment. Selected candidates’ original certificates and claims made in the online application will be verified before final appointment. UKPSC’s decision on eligibility and selection at every stage is final.
