About UBTER JEEP 2026: What Is This Exam?

UBTER JEEP, officially called the Joint Entrance Examination Polytechnics, is the state-level polytechnic entrance exam for Uttarakhand. It is conducted every year by IRDT (Institute of Research, Development and Training), Dehradun, under the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education (UBTER), Roorkee. Clearing this exam gives you merit-based admission to government, government-aided, and private polytechnic institutions across Uttarakhand.

The exam covers five course groups: Group E for Diploma Engineering and Technology (3 years), Group T for Textile Design/Garment Technology/Fashion Design (3 years, women only), Group P for Diploma in Pharmacy (2 years), Group A for Lateral Entry to second year of Diploma Engineering (2 years), and Group M, H, and G for Modern Office Management, Hotel Management, and PGDCA respectively (merit-based, no entrance exam required for the last three).
