Kanishth Sahayak vacancy details — 259 posts

Kanishth Sahayak posts are split between Civil Courts and Family Courts. The pay level is the same for both — Level-3 — unlike the Stenographer/PA post in this same notification, where the pay level actually differs by court type.

Pay scale (both Civil and Family Courts): ₹21,700 – ₹69,100 (Level-3)

Candidates select district preferences in order during the application. Final district allotment depends on merit position and vacancy availability, and the preference order cannot be changed after submission.

Eligibility criteria

Educational qualification

• Graduate degree from a university established by law in India, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
• Good working knowledge of Hindi and English.
• Hindi typing speed of at least 25 words per minute on computer. Candidates who can also type in English at a minimum of 30 words per minute will be given preference in merit ranking.
• Adequate knowledge of computer operation.

Age limit

• Age is calculated as on 1 January 2026.
• General category: minimum 21 years, maximum 35 years (born between 2 January 1991 and 1 January 2005).

Note: EWS candidates do not get a separate age relaxation under this notification — EWS is an income-based reservation category, not an age-relaxation category. Some other portals covering this exam state otherwise; that is incorrect per the official advertisement.

Other eligibility conditions

• Must be an Indian citizen.
• Must not currently be dismissed from government service, and must not have been convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude.
• Marital status bar: a male candidate with more than one living spouse, or a woman who married a man who already has a living spouse, is not eligible.
• Must be certified medically fit by the appointing authority’s prescribed process before final appointment.
• If currently employed in government or semi-government service, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer is mandatory.

Application fee

Fee is payable only through credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI. No other payment mode is accepted, and underpayment leads to automatic cancellation of the application.

How to fill the online application — step by step

1. Registration — Use your own mobile number and email ID. Each can be used for only one registration. Note your registration number; you’ll need it for future logins.
2. Educational & personal details — Enter name, father’s/mother’s name, and date of birth exactly as they appear on your High School certificate. These four fields (name, parent’s name, DOB, exam centre) cannot be changed later, even during the correction window.
3. Upload documents — Photo, signature, thumb impression, High School certificate, Aadhaar (both sides), and category certificate if applicable.
4. Pay the fee — Card, net banking, or UPI only.
5. Print the application — Keep a copy for your records; you don’t need to submit it to the Commission’s office at this stage.

Selection process & exam pattern

Selection is based on a written exam followed by a typing test and document verification.

• Written exam: 140 marks, objective/MCQ format, 2 hours 30 minutes. Covers General Knowledge and General Studies.
• Negative marking: −0.25 for each wrong answer. Marking more than one option for a question counts as wrong, even if one of the marked options is correct. Unattempted questions carry no penalty.
• Qualifying marks: 45% for General/OBC, 35% for SC/ST.
• Typing test: 60 marks, qualifying in nature (Hindi typing at minimum 25 wpm).
• Tie-breaker: if two candidates score equally, the one who also clears the English typing speed requirement is ranked higher; if still tied, the older candidate (by date of birth) is ranked higher.
• Document verification: mandatory after the written exam. Absence at document verification leads to automatic rejection of candidature, regardless of exam performance.

Reservation

EWS certificates must be issued between 1 April 2026 and 6 July 2026, based on FY2025–26 income. OBC certificates must remain valid (within 3 years of issue) through the application deadline. Reservation benefit is granted only if the relevant category is selected in the application form — it cannot be claimed afterward without having declared it at the time of applying.

Other important instructions

• No electronic devices of any kind — camera, calculator, mobile phone, pager, scanner pen — are allowed inside the exam centre. Violation can lead to debarment from this and future Commission exams.
• The Commission can cancel a candidate’s selection at any stage, including after a result is declared, if certificates or claims are later found to be false or forged.
• Submitting more than one application for the same post leads to cancellation of all of them.
• Being issued an admit card and allowed into the exam hall does not confirm final eligibility — that’s subject to document verification and final scrutiny.
• After the answer key is published, candidates can raise an objection on a specific question for a fee of ₹50 per question, online only, within the fixed window. Questions with no objection received are treated as correctly keyed for the final result.
• The exam is governed by the Uttarakhand Competitive Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2023 — any unfair means used during the process can lead to legal action under this Act.
