UKSSSC Scaler Eligibility — Age, Qualification, Domicile & Physical Standards

Before applying for the UKSSSC Scaler post under Uttarakhand Van Vikas Nigam, candidates need to check five things: age, educational qualification, domicile, nationality, and physical standards (height and the physical efficiency test). Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 and 28 years of age as on 1 July 2026 — born no later than 1 July 2008 and no earlier than 2 July 1998.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed High School and Intermediate (or an equivalent level) from a board or institution recognized by the Government of India or the Uttarakhand government.

Domicile & Registration Requirements

  • Candidate must hold a Uttarakhand domicile/permanent residence certificate.
  • Candidate must be registered with a Seva Yojan (Employment) office in Uttarakhand before the last date of application — with defined exceptions for candidates already in relevant government service, and for Uttarakhand-domiciled ex-servicemen registered with a District Sainik Kalyan office instead.
  • For posts outside the purview of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission’s Group ‘C’ direct recruitment, candidates must have passed High School and Intermediate (or equivalent) specifically from institutions located within Uttarakhand.
  • Government/semi-government employees must inform their employer before submitting the online form, and must produce a No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of document verification if asked.

Nationality

Candidate must be one of the following:

  1. A citizen of India, or
  2. A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling here, or
  3. A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, or specified East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, former Tanganyika/Zanzibar) with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Candidates under categories 2 or 3 need an eligibility certificate from the government; a certificate issued for category 3 is valid for a maximum of one year, during which the candidate must acquire Indian citizenship.

Character & Marital Status

  • Candidate’s character must be suitable for government service; conduct during the selection process itself is also assessed, and improper conduct can lead to cancellation of candidature.
  • No male candidate with more than one living wife, and no female candidate who has married a man already having a living wife, is eligible.

Only candidates who clear the walk are permitted to attempt shot put, long jump, and high jump, with up to 3 attempts allowed per event. Candidates who don’t meet the height standards or fail the PET are excluded from further selection.
