UBTER JEEP Counselling 2026 – Official Schedule
UBTER has released the official JEEP 2026 counselling schedule via Advt. No. 296, dated 15 June 2026. Counselling is being held in two phases:
| Phase | Registration & Choice Filling | Institute/Branch Allotment | Reporting & Admission |
| Phase 1 | June 18 – June 21, 2026 | June 24, 2026 | June 25 – July 2, 2026 |
| Phase 2 | July 6 – July 8, 2026 | July 11, 2026 | July 13 – July 18, 2026 |
Phase 1 is open to all JEEP 2026 candidates. Phase 2 is for candidates who couldn’t take part in Phase 1, and for Phase 1 allottees who want to upgrade their seat. If you upgrade in Phase 2, your Phase 1 seat is cancelled automatically the moment the new seat is confirmed — there’s no claim-back on the old one. Only register again in Phase 2 if you actually want a different allotment.
How to Register for UBTER JEEP Counselling 2026
JEEP counselling is fully online — no need to visit any centre for registration. Follow these steps:
Step 1 – Go to admissions.ubterjeep.co.in and complete your registration. This is the dedicated counselling portal — separate from the exam website (ubterjeep.co.in) you used for the application form and admit card.
Step 2 – Log In with Your Credentials Use your JEEP 2026 roll number, application form number, and date of birth to log in. All three are required — your roll number and DOB alone won’t work for counselling registration, even though they were enough for the admit card download.
Step 3 – Verify Your Details Check that your name, category, date of birth, and reservation category are correctly displayed. If there is any discrepancy, contact UBTER before proceeding.
Step 4 – Pay the Counselling Fee No separate counselling fee is charged. The ₹500 (SC/ST) or ₹800 (others) fee paid at the time of JEEP application already covers counselling. You’ll only pay again at the institute level — tuition and student fund — after seat allotment.
Step 5 – Fill College and Course Preferences (Choice Filling) Select your preferred institutes and programmes in order of priority. This is covered in detail in the next section. Registering under TFW? You must fill both Normal and TFW preferences for your course — see the TFW section below for details.
Step 6 – Lock Your Choices Once satisfied, lock your choices before the deadline. Locked choices cannot be changed.
Step 7 – Wait for Seat Allotment After the choice filling window closes, UBTER processes seat allotment based on your merit rank, category, and choices.
Choice Filling – How to Fill Your College Preferences
Choice filling is the most critical step in UBTER JEEP counselling. Your seat depends entirely on the combination of your merit rank and the order you fill your preferences.
How choice filling works:
- You can add as many institutes and branches as you want, in order of your preference
- The system assigns you the best available option from your list, based on your merit rank
- If your top choice isn’t available due to your rank, the system moves to your next preference
- Once a seat is allotted, you cannot add new choices in the same round
Tips for filling choices:
- Add at least 10–15 institute-branch combinations to avoid going unallotted
- Always put your truly preferred institute at the top — the system will not give you a lower preference if a higher one is available
- Research the college list in advance — download the official [college list PDF] from the UBTER website, which lists all affiliated polytechnics with their branch codes
Group-wise choice filling: JEEP 2026 has four groups — E (Engineering), P (Pharmacy), T (Textile/Fashion), and A (Lateral Entry). If you applied for more than one group, you must fill choices separately for each group. Seat allotment is independent across groups.
Seat Allotment – How It Works
UBTER allocates seats through a computerised merit-based process. Here is the logic:
Merit List Preparation: Your rank is determined by your JEEP 2026 total score. In case of a tie (two candidates with equal marks), the following tie-breaking order is applied:
| Priority | Tie-Breaker |
| 1st | Date of Birth (older candidate ranked higher) |
| 2nd | Marks in Mathematics |
| 3rd | Marks in Science / Chemistry |
| 4th | Marks in Biology |
| 5th | Secretary, UBTER decides |
Seat Reservation for JEEP 2026:
| Category | Vertical Reservation |
| Scheduled Caste (SC) | 19% |
| Scheduled Tribe (ST) | 4% |
| Other Backward Class (OBC) | 14% |
| Economically Weaker Section (EWS) | 10% |
| Women | 30% (horizontal) |
Additional horizontal reservation is available for: Physically Handicapped (4%), Ex-Servicemen / Martyr dependents (5%), Freedom Fighter dependents (2%), and NCC certificate holders (bonus marks of 1%, 2%, or 3% added to score for C, B, and A certificates respectively).
Important: Reservation benefits are available only to permanent residents of Uttarakhand. If you are claiming any reservation category, you must present a valid certificate from a competent authority at the time of document verification. Failure to present the certificate will cancel your allotment.
After getting your rank card, comparing it against previous year cut-offs helps you estimate which institutes are within your reach.
Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme for JEEP 2026
Separately from the reservation categories above, UBTER offers a Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) scheme for economically weaker candidates. Key points:
- Eligibility: Parental annual income below ₹4.50 lakh from all sources (raised from the original ₹2.50 lakh limit via Govt. Order No. 647/XLI-1/12-26/10, dated 20 June 2012).
- Seats: 5% of sanctioned intake per course, supernumerary — these are extra seats, not carved out of the regular quota.
- Choice filling: If you register under TFW, you must fill both Normal and TFW preferences for your course, in order of priority, at the time of choice filling.
- Important restriction: Once admitted under TFW, you cannot change your institute or course under any circumstances — this overrides the general Phase 2 upgrade rule available to other candidates. (As per Govt. Order No. 348/XXIV(8)/10-26-10, dated 19 Jan 2011.)
- No tuition fee is charged to TFW admits at government institutions; private institutions waive tuition per the rate fixed by the State Fee Committee. Other fees (student fund, hostel, etc.) still apply.
Counselling Rounds – Round 1, Round 2, and Spot Counselling
UBTER JEEP typically conducts two to three rounds of counselling:
- Round 1 (First Counselling): Open to all registered candidates. Seats are allotted based on merit and choices. After Round 1 allotment, candidates must pay the admission fee and report to the allotted institute.
- Round 2 (Second Counselling): Conducted for seats that remained vacant after Round 1 reporting. Candidates who were not allotted a seat in Round 1, or those who did not report, can participate. If you received a Round 1 seat and want to upgrade, check whether UBTER allows simultaneous participation — this varies by year.
- Spot Counselling: If seats remain vacant after Round 2, spot counselling is held. This is a physical process where candidates appear in person. Spot counselling dates and venue are announced separately.
- Can you change institute after admission? No. Institute or programme transfer after admission is not allowed under any circumstances, as per the official JEEP 2026 brochure. If you want to change, you must participate in the 2nd or 3rd round counselling through the proper process with a relieving certificate from the previous institute. No direct transfer is permitted.
Documents Required for UBTER JEEP Counselling 2026
Keep these documents ready — both originals and self-attested photocopies — before you begin the counselling process:

| Class 10 Marksheet | Original + 2 photocopies |
| Class 10 Certificate (Passing) | Original + 2 photocopies |
| Class 12 / Intermediate Marksheet | Original + 2 photocopies |
| Class 12 / Intermediate Certificate | Original + 2 photocopies |
| Domicile / Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) | Original from competent authority |
| Category Certificate (SC / ST / OBC / EWS) | Original from competent authority (if claiming) |
| NCC Certificate (A / B / C) | Original (if bonus marks claimed) |
| Freedom Fighter Dependant Certificate (DFF) | Original (if applicable) |

Critical: All reservation certificates must be issued by the designated competent authority in the prescribed format. The JEEP 2026 result page has the complete details on what information is printed on your rank card and how to download it — check that before counselling begins.
Counselling Fee for UBTER JEEP 2026
The fee paid at the time of JEEP 2026 application (₹500 for SC/ST and ₹800 for all other categories) covers both the examination fee and the counselling fee — it is a combined fee as per the official brochure. No additional standalone counselling registration fee is charged by UBTER for the online registration process.
| Category | Fee Paid (Application Stage) |
| SC / ST | ₹500 (exam + counselling included) |
| All Others | ₹800 (exam + counselling included) |
After seat allotment, the following institutional fees apply at the time of reporting:
| Fee Head | Amount |
| Tuition Fee (Government / Aided Polytechnic) | ₹8,000 per year |
| Student Fund | ₹5,000 per year |
| Hostel (if applicable) | ₹4,000 per year |
| Admission Form + Registration | ₹50 |
Private polytechnic fees vary — Engineering: ₹35,000/year (minimum), D.Pharma: ₹45,000/year. Check the official brochure for the complete fee structure.
After Seat Allotment – Reporting to the Institute
Once your seat is allotted, you must report to the allotted institute within the reporting deadline. Missing the reporting deadline means your seat is forfeited — even if you have a confirmed allotment.
What to do at reporting:
- Carry all original documents + photocopies listed in the documents section above
- Pay the institutional fee (tuition + student fund + other applicable fees) at the time of reporting
- Get a Fee Receipt — this is your proof of admission
- An Admission Committee at the institute will verify all your documents
- Your reservation category certificate will be verified at this stage — present the original
After admission:
- Minimum 80% attendance is mandatory for annual and semester examinations
- Transfer of institute or programme after admission is not permitted in any case
- Candidates admitted under a reserved category who cannot produce the required certificate at reporting will have their admission automatically cancelled

UBTER JEEP Counselling – FAQs
UBTER JEEP counselling 2026 kab hogi?
UBTER JEEP 2026 ka result 12 June 2026 ko declare ho gaya hai, jiske baad counselling shuru hogi. 2026 mein counselling June ke teesre hafte ya July ke pehle hafte se shuru hone ki ummeed hai. Pichhle saal (2025) mein JEEP counselling June-July mein hui thi — Round 1 registration 25 June se shuru hui thi aur Round 2 allotment July 23 tak complete hua tha. Exact dates official website www.ubterjeep.co.in par announce hongi.
How many rounds of counselling are there in UBTER JEEP?
For JEEP 2026, UBTER has confirmed two phases — Phase 1 (June 18–21 registration, June 25–July 2 admission) and Phase 2 (July 6–8 registration, July 13–18 admission). Phase 2 covers both candidates who missed Phase 1 and Phase 1 allottees seeking an upgrade. If seats remain after Phase 2, UBTER may open a spot round separately — check admissions.ubterjeep.co.in for updates.
Can I change my college or branch after JEEP seat allotment?
Within the counselling window, yes. If you’re allotted a seat in Phase 1 and want a different institute or branch, register again in Phase 2 — you can upgrade. Your Phase 1 seat cancels automatically the moment the Phase 2 seat is confirmed; no relieving certificate is needed for this. Once you’ve completed admission at an institute after your final round, transfer to another institute is not permitted.
What documents do I need for UBTER JEEP counselling 2026?
You will need your Rank Card, Admit Card, Class 10 and 12 marksheets and certificates, Domicile (PRC), category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS if applicable), NCC certificate (if applicable), health certificate from a government hospital, and recent passport-size photographs. Originals and self-attested photocopies both are required.
Is there a separate counselling fee for JEEP 2026?
No separate counselling fee is charged by UBTER. The ₹500 (SC/ST) or ₹800 (others) application fee paid at the time of form submission covers both the exam and counselling charges. However, institutional admission fees (tuition, student fund, etc.) are payable at the time of reporting to the allotted college.
What happens if I miss the JEEP counselling registration window?
If you miss Phase 1 registration (June 18–21), you can still register in Phase 2 (July 6–8, 2026) — the official notice explicitly allows candidates who missed Phase 1 to join Phase 2. Missing the reporting deadline after an allotment, though, results in automatic cancellation of that seat.
